Hello Lovely readers,

Another week has yet again flown by and we had a lot of fun! Myla had her first day of preschool, a birthday party, playroom organization, and Myla's first soccer practice. With two new activies added to our weekly schedule we are pretty busy and just trying ot figure out the best way to make the schedle flow easily. That has been a bit of a challenge though because my work has been crazy lately and I have been trying to help out by working a little more when I can. That means Justin has to do most of the prescchool drop offs as of right now.

Myla is loving preschool. She is making new friends, drawing lots of pictures and burning a lot of energy while she is there. Most days when she comes home from school and we asked her what she learned or who she played with she says she can't remember but she always says it was fun so thats great. A bonus on school days are unexpected naps. Usually she is a terrible nap taker and most days she refuses to take a nap but that has been a different story on school days. I'm not sure if the naps will become a regular thing but so far on the days she has taken a nap she has been really happy in the evenings with way less fighting. Fingers crossed this becomes a new habit!

This past weekend Myla went to Kara's birthday party, she is one of her best friends and they have know eachother since Kara was born. She had a blast at the party. It was an all girl party and it was so calm and sweet. They did crafts and played with a parachute, it was a really fun time. These three girls are all such great friends and its so nice they are in preschool together.

Then Sunday the kids and I decluttered the playroom and started our toy rotation. The shelves are much cleaner now and when I walk into that room I do not feel overwhelmed anymore. I think the kids feel the same way becausse they have been playing in the room more and really enjoying the toys they have out. I think they were so overwhelmed by the amount of toys in the room that they never actually played with anything. Clean up in the evenings has been much easier too. I think it has only taken us 5 minutes to get everything put away so overall it has been sucessful the past few days.

On Sunday I also took the kids to see a model outdoor train that a couple in our neighborhood has built in their garden. They are apart of a group called railroad garden tour and the occassionally have events where they welcome families to enjoy the trains. They have a website to let you know where diffterent model trains are set up and I hope to see more in the future. The kids loved it, especcially Max. He just sat there watching them go around the track and he got so excited when they got close to him, it was the cutest thing. Also Justin was participating in a cornhole tournament that day and he got second place. We are all really proud of him!

This past weekend I was also able to finish a quilt I had been making for some of our very close friends new baby boy. I started this quilt a few months ago with hopes that it would be completed before he made his arrival. I didn't make the deadline beacause the sewing maching kept breaking but they received the quilt yesterday and they loved it. All of the fabric I picked out for the front represented memories we have together, and the back fabric is soft and perfect for tummy time. I used the same pattern for this quilt that I did for our nursery quilt, so it has a lot of meaning to it. I wrote them a letter expaining all of the fabric and overall I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

We had a very sucessful weekend and a quiet week so far. Myla started soccer again yesterday and she seems to like it. I think she spends just as much time drinking water as she does on the field though so we'll see how this season turns out. Thank you so much for reading about our eventful week. Our weekend will be another busy one so I'll have a lot to talk about next week. I hope you have agreat week!

Alex
