Slow January

Hello lovely readers,
Things have going pretty slow this dreary January and we haven't that much going on. Since we can't really get outside much to play and keep busy we've had some play dates, and we did sign Myla up for up for gymnastics. We have had a lot of days where we've been hibernating too. It's nice to have some time to recover from all the holidays and just the pure chaos of life. However I think I'm already ready for summer so we can get out and explore and it's only January.
This past month we celebrated my cousin's sons first birthday. It was a super cute party with a nature theme. Myla was obsessed with the birthday boy and she wanted the play with him the whole time. We got a group picture of the kids and Myla kept trying to get him to look at the camera by trying to turn his head which naturally upset him. He got his revenge though by pulling her hair in the next picture, cousinly love at its finest.

Myla also started gymnastics this month at the Westgate rec center. She was excited to be back at a gym with the big kid equipment. Last year I put her in a class for kids her age and the equipment was small. Apparently she was not a fan of that. She is doing summersaults all the time now.
We transitioned Max to his big boy bed. Which broke my mama heart because he's not a baby anymore but for safety reasons it was time. He is really tall and we noticed he was starting to try to climb out of his crib. Since his bed was already on the lowest setting we had to transition him. I was nervous he wouldn't do well with the transition but so far it's went pretty smooth. He has gotten to it of bed a few times and fell asleep in the rocking chair but other than that I think he likes his new bed a lot.

I started learning biopsy procedures at work this month and it's been a nice change. I never learned biopsies because I don't do well around blood but I needed a change at work and I decided to overcome my fear. I've learned a lot in the past two weeks and I've enjoyed it so far.
The last thing we have going on is redecorating our dinning room. When we moved in we painted the room and yellow and always planned on putting up board and batton in that room and now we have time to get it done. We changed the trim out since it was pretty beat up from putting the floor in and Justin did not enjoy working with the trim at all. It caused a lot of problems when it came to cutting the 45 degree angles. The board and batton has been easier for him so far. I hope we can have the room done by the end of February because I started a book club and we have our first meeting on February 29th.
I am really excited to start a book club I have always wanted to be in or start a book club so I decided to go for it. If you would like to join let me know and I can add you to my event I've created. The first book we have decided to read is the last thing he told me by Laura Dave. It seems like a mystery book so I think it should be pretty good.
Well that's all we've had going on the past two weeks! I hope things have been going well for you too!!!!
Love,
Alex
