Whirlwind weeks

Hello lovely readers,

The past few weeks have been crazy. Myla had surgery to remove her tonsils and adnoids, I turned 32, we celebrated mother's day, and Justin went to Vegas while the kids and I went to the camper!!!! To say my plate has been full is an understatement.

Myla's surgery went really well, the recovery was really hard though. My poor sweet girl was in so much pain and there wasn't much we could do to help her. It broke my momma heart so I'm ecstatic she is doing so well now and sounds much better overall. I didn't anticipate the recovery to be so hard on her. There were so many things I didn't take into account before it was done. Obviously she had a hard time swallowing but she also had a terrible time eating because they stretched her mouth so wide it hurt her jaw and left her cheeks raw from them stretching her mouth. She didn't eat for a week and we had several sleepless nights because she was in so much pain. I'm glad she had the procedure done because she is doing a lot better now but I would not wish this surgery on my worst enemy.

Around the time Myla started feeling better I had a small domino game night then celebrate my birthday. It was so nice to have fun with friends and family after a few rough weeks and Myla was ready to see her friends. It was really nice. I loved watching the kids play and I just enjoyed hanging out with everyone. I love the crazy parties with the kids running around just having a great time. I'm so grateful for all the wonderful people I have in my life.

The weekend following my birthday celebration was mother's day so I had a full week of being pampered pretty much. It was nice to be spoiled. I spent my time having a water day with Max and I painted the kids outdoor playhouse and some chairs. Myla kept singing happy birthday and happy mother's day to me all week, she really is a sweet girl.

This past week I was surprised we had such great weather and I took Max to the zoo while Myla was spending the day with her Mawmaw. He loved it.

Justin left for Vegas Friday to play Cornhole with his buddies and he had a great time. I took the kids to the camper to soak up the sun and I got things cleaned up to make it look nice. My mawmaw and mother in law joined us on our camping adventure and we had a blast.

I know our life gets crazy and can become pretty overwhelming most of the time but I honestly wouldn't change any of it. I am learning to take the good with the bad and the happy with sad. I strive to make things perfect and I am really trying to understand that it's not always going to go the way I plan. I'm getting better at it but it's been a slow process. When I take time to slow down and truly embrace the moments we are spending together I realize everything may not go as planned but I love the chaos we creat.

It's really hard being my a mom, I want to do everything right and sometimes that's not possible. We are all imperfectly perfect and I need to be kinder to myself. I want to give this life everything I have so I can't teach my children to love the life they are given. I will make mistakes and I hope to learn from them but if I can learn to be kinder to myself I can learn to be kinder to others then my children will learn by example. We've been fortunate to have so much fun these past few weeks and it has been super overwhelming at times but I'm glad I never threw in the towel because I love the memories we are making!!!

Have a great week everyone, blog for you soon!!!

Alex
